I can't remember how I came across Junius all I know is I'm glad I did. I know I read on someone's blog that it was highly recommended, but their link was dead so I had to do a search and find it on my own. Anyway, the album "The Martyrdom Of Catastrophist" starts out quite slow and builds in a great way. I sort of see them as Explosions in the Sky if EitS had a vocalist.
Check out their video below.

Dark Was The Night - A Red Hot Compilation
Dark Was The Night Compilation was procuded by Aaron & Bryce Dessner of The National.
I came across the "Dark Was The Night" compilation (which is one of the best I've heard in a while) via this blog's Top 25 List for the first half of 2009. The list by the way is very good check it out for yourself. I wanted to post this along with Jónsi & Alex's "Riceboy Sleeps" as it's the compilation that lead me to the album to begin with along with some other very good artists/tracks.
One of which you can check out below is Feist & Ben Gibbard's "Train Song."

Jónsi & Alex - Riceboy Sleeps
I first heard Jónsi & Alex via the "Dark Was The Night" compilation, which is amazing and I suggest that everyone checks it out. I heard the song "Happiness" and had to research the group. I found out that it was a side project of the lead singer of Sigur Rós whom I love and had to check out their album "Riceboy Sleeps."

Hilltop Hoods - State Of The Art
I came across Hilltop Hoods a little over a year ago now around the time of the Summer Olympics in '08. I had started working on my World Mix (if you consider yourself a versatile music connoisseur definitely check it out...I put in a couple months of time on that compilation) via My Other Blog at the time and wanted to find an artist I liked from Australia. I wound up coming across the hip-hop group Hilltop Hoods and was definitely not let down by their music.
This is the video I discovered them through...pretty sweet tricks & catchy track.
Here's their new album entitled "State Of The Art" I hope you enjoy.

Delta Spirit - Ode To Sunshine
I stumbled across Delta Spirit one night on a massive indie binge and immediately fell in love with their style/album. They remind me a bit of Cold War Kids possibly because they toured
with them and sound a lot like them?
Anyway, check out the video below.
Check out their album "Ode to Sunshine."

Boat Club - Caught The Breeze
I came across Boat Club a while ago through my friend Nick. They're an amazing 2-man band from what you'd think would be Hawaii, but is in reality Sweden. Their sound is unique and will make you feel like your on an island while most likely bringing a smile to your day. Enjoy!
Check them out playing live below.
If you enjoy please check out there album "Caught The Breeze."

Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production of Eggs
My friend Max first told me about Andrew Bird a time ago now. I was introduced to him via The Take-Away Shows/La Blogotheque, which is a great blog by the way that I definitely recommend. Anyway, here's the first piece I saw/heard of Andrew Bird.

September 10th, 2009 - Intro
Welcome to www.sharingisfreedom.blogspot.com a blog I'm going to start diligently working on. I'll be posting as often as possible...mostly indie songs or albums/music that I think needs to be heard that may otherwise not be.
The name means exactly what it says sharing is freedom, if we're truly free then we should be allowed to voice our opinions and share our views/links with others. No ones forcing anyone to download anything...it's just a simple viewpoint and I feel that if we're not allowed to help turn someone else on to less known music then what is the world coming to?
Requests/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

The music I get is from all over, many different sources and some will definitely be re-posts. To whatever site(s)/blog(s) I'm taking different material from I'm sorry in advance, I always rename my material immediately because I don't like all the _00 & other gibberish a lot of you choose to put in your .rar/.zip files. As a result I wont be able to site my sources all the time, although from this point on I'll definitely do my best with anything I get from hereon out.
My naming scheme is as such: Artist - Track # - Track Title.
If you prefer some other method fair enough, but that's just how I like to organize my music.
Other then that Enjoy and feedback is always welcome.
